"Ice Cream" by Samuel Ferris Harmon
Samuel Ferris Harmon is the only redhead in his family.
He grew up in Oregon, where he was home-schooled and fed a macrobiotic diet.
He spent a lot of time by himself, climbing trees.

This is a recording of the very first time I ever played this song.
I was listening to a lot of Mecca Normal at the time and I was very interested in the fact that they wrote and recorded everything at the same time.
I had been playing around with this guitar riff for quite a while and so I just recorded it and then I grabbed my journal and pulled some words out.
It wasn’t until after I had recorded it that I realized that it was a song that I could play live.
It took some getting used to but now the song has taken on a life of it’s own.
I have recorded it again since but this first recording seems to hold the most power and impact emotionally.
