LYRICS:
I've been sinking in
between sheets and salty skies
fell through as my eyes
closed me in this dream
I've gotta be asleep
been swimming in the ocean all night long
buried
under swells of ocean waves
floating through these hazy days
we could be here always
I'm still in the same
place I started out tonight
don't know where I am
It's vivid like a film
Go on and On

"The Smile You Wear" by Scott Austin
Singer songwriter Scott Austin has a way with toe-tapping, thought provoking tunes. There is a sweet spot in his sound that pulls you in. Soulfully sung, his words and vibrato will stay with you throughout the day according to his mother. His songs are about life, love, one's ability to feel and going for what you want. While he enjoys playing with a rocking band and will again very soon, he has spent the last year primarily performing as a solo acoustic act and refining his style as a singer and performer. He has connected with his audiences from groovy dive bars, dinner crowds and welcoming house parties to Eugene's favorite venues such as Luckey's, Sam Bonds, Oak Street Speakeasy, and The W.O.W hall. The last 7 months he has been crafting his full length album: "Complicated Heart" along with the help of friend and Producer Tyler Fortier. This song, "The smile you wear" is off of the upcoming album. The cd will be out this Summer. Stay tuned. You may go to reverbnation.com/scottaustin to check out more about Scott. Thanks for listening and sharing. Keep on smiling.

"City" by Paris Green
Paris Green is a new band from Eugene, Oregon. Members consist of Nick Gamer, Colin Redmond and Leo London. All three are multi-instrumentalists/songwriters who have been writing/recording/and performing in various incarnations here in the NW for many a year. They recorded the infectious track “City” in Colin's humid attic especially for this here compilation. These three boys just love to go on long walks together just as the sun is beginning to set. They enjoy bird watching. They are beekeepers. They bake together.
LYRICS
Everyone's in a band in this city
Bars on every corner stores too
I'm just a flash in the pain in this city
Flash in the sky her eyes lit up
Right before it died like a nova
Wake up reeling, check my vital signs
File my teeth in the evening
Just one more time
Bryan's in the van checking on his pet bird
It's two-fifty for a can of dirty water
Don't know what I really saw that night
The feelings just the same
In the palm of her hand, sisters little helper
Garret tried a keg stand
Busted his face in and he laughed along
Don't know what I really saw that night
The feelings just the same.

"noctis chroea (Night Dance)" - Kurt M. Landre'
Kurt M. Landre' grew up in Springfield and attended Thurston High, wandered away for a while, and ended up in Eugene attending the U of O as a music composition major.
He spent too much time in recording studios and in bars playing music and not enough time studying music theory and his grades reflected it. However, he does tend to know his balanced from his unbalanced cables as a result, which has brought him exactly $0.00 in post educational earning power.
After a long performance stint as an over caffeinated and completely unknown acoustic folk-rock artist in the regional Northwest, he abandoned his mandolin, harmonica, and prized medieval accordionist torture device and returned to his classically notated roots. The pay isn't as good, the food sucks, and the audience never applauds, but the guitarist never argues with you and you don't have to worry if the drummer will show up on time for once.
He now resides in the huge and burgeoning mega-metropolis of Hillsboro, battling trolls, psychotic human liver addicted aliens, and demon spawned tech recruiters (how the **** did you people keep getting my number?! I posted that resume OVER 10 YEARS AGO! Can't you ever just let the internet GO AWAY?!?!).
When not attempting to escape the above mentioned foes, he happily spends his life gnawing on his infant son's foot to make him giggle for hours, tickling his daughter until she squeals in delight, or listening to his wife's insanely funny wisecrackings.
You should go and listen to more of his music. You might enjoy it. It's got...well, it often doesn't really have any beat at all. And you can rarely dance to it, unless you're super creative.
But it's still a pretty interesting listen...
http://www.soundcloud.com/kmladre
Also, he's a big fan of getting email from complete strangers, particularly those interested in selling him stocks that are "just about to BREAK!", inappropriate invitations involving methods to exercise aspects of his being that nobody has any business commenting on, and virii laden windows executables posing as screen savers and word documents. There is a special hell reserved for those folks.
So shoot him at line at kmlandre@yahoo.com if you've got any complaints or whinings about the beatlessness of his music or otherwise.

"Sea Section" by Pablo the Chemist
Pablo the Chemist was spearheaded by Robin Chappell in 2004 as a studio project. Each recording is a live studio event that blends the chemistry of the players invited for the session. Songs are mixed soon after with the addition of a few tracks, usually without vocals. With a line-up of local musicians, Pablo the Chemist invites flow from the ethers...
Robin is joined by Artie Leider and Steve Chamberlain for the track Sea Section. You may recognize Artie from one of our favorite local music stores. Artie plays stuff. Mostly he plays around. But when it comes to music, it gets REALLY serious — seriously playing guitar. Steve plays bass — rhythmic, driving, melodic — diving deep into his musical roots. He is never short for ideas in the dramatic laboratory we call music.
The lyrics in Sea Section pay tribute to Robin's son, and to all families who rally as their children venture out into the world. "Take a pair of shoes..." to cross the Sea Section, even if you're from Eugene and you usually walk barefoot!

"Fat Chicks" - The Redneck Yetis
Believe it or not, we used to be an actual band at one point; drummer, singer, two guitarists and a bassist. Life was good. Then the rest of the band skipped the "get famous" portion of being a band and went straight to the "let's do drugs" stage. The remaining standing force was a meager Guitarist and Bassist. We squished our Bassist into a Guitarist, and weren't disappointed with the results. It was then that we decided that the serious approach wouldn't fit for us. So we wrote songs about cannibalism, obese women, hipsters, and loneliness... guess this is a byproduct!

"Night Time" by Crooked River
Crooked River is a quartet of musicians that share a love of traditional country. Teri Jacobs, Lana Dishner and Rob Jacobs got together a couple of years ago to play Johnny Cash and Hank Williams after family dinners. They realized shortly that their unique blend of vocals and swinging guitars brought a new dimension to these old country tunes. They recorded a full length album “ My Troubled Heart” in 2009.
Recently, Lane Fricke joined the band adding a washtub bass to the mix. Crooked River plays classic country with a modern lyrical twist. Their new album is on the way.
